Lower the Temp! You’re more than likely cooking for Christmas. Obviously, the oven generates heat. Add to that extra people in your home and you might get a little warn! When you start cooking, set the thermostat a few degrees cooler than you usually would so you and your guests won’t get too warm.

Is the Humidity High? Humidity levels rise when people gather in a room. Did you know that your breath sends moisture into the air? It does! And it won’t evaporate in a heated home. If you have a dehumidifier, let it run for half an hour before guests arrive or, you can turn on the air conditioning in the same way to achieve similar results.

Watch the Weather. You know they say if you don’t like the weather here in Arkansas, wait five minutes and it will change. Keep an eye on the forecast to help you plan the best way to keep your home at a comfortable temperature for holiday parties—whether you’re hosting a big family gathering or a small group of friends.

The best way to make sure your home is ready for all the festivities is to get your heating unit checked out by a professional.
